Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove rear antilock valve, combination valve and master cylinder. See: Hydraulic System/Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve/Service and
Repair
2. Remove vacuum hoses from booster check valve.
3. Inside vehicle, remove steering column knee bolster for access to brake pedal.
Power Brake Booster (In-Line Mount)
4. Remove clip that attaches booster push rod to brake pedal pin.
5. Remove nuts that attach booster to dash panel.
6. Remove booster and booster dash seal.
INSTALLATION
1. Position seal on booster.
2. Mount booster on dash panel.
3. Slide booster push rod onto brake pedal pin. Then secure push rod with retaining clip.
4. Install and tighten booster mounting nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5. Install knee bolster.
6. Install master cylinder, combination valve and rear antilock valve. See: Hydraulic System/Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve/Service and

7. Fill and bleed brake system. See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair
