Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

WARNING: Review the Service Precautions before performing the following operation.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system.
3. Remove the fresh air intake tube from the engine air cleaner.
4. Remove the condenser refrigerant lines. Install plugs in, or tape over all of the open refrigerant fittings.
5. Remove the grille panel.
6. Remove the washer fluid reservoir and the coolant reserve tank.
7. Remove the cowl grille support.
8. Remove the condenser.
9. Reverse the removal procedures to install.

10. Evacuate the refrigerant system.
11. Charge the refrigerant system.

NOTE:  If the condenser is replaced, add 30 ml (1 oz.) of refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system.
