Power Door Lock Actuator: Description and Operation
SYSTEM OPERATION
In the power lock and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems, the locks are actuated by a reversible motor mounted within each door. On models
without the RKE option, the motor direction is controlled by the battery and ground feeds from the power lock switches. On models with the RKE
option, the motor direction is controlled by the battery and ground feeds from the power lock and remote keyless entry module.
The power lock motor cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, the entire motor must be replaced.
