Blend Door Actuator Replacement
The blend air door servo motor must be accessed by removal of the heater-A/C housing as described in the removal procedures that follow.
WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, REFER TO AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELTS/AIRBAGS BEFORE
ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE.
FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE
PERSONAL INJURY.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly in the Removal and Installation of Instrument Panel Systems
for the procedures.
3. Remove the heater-A/C housing from the vehicle. Refer to Heater-A/C Housing Removal and Installation for the procedure.
Blend Air Door Motor Remove/Install
4. Unplug the wire harness connector from the servo motor.
5. Remove the two mounting screws which secure the motor to the housing.
6. Remove the blend air door motor from the housing.
INSTALLATION
Before installing the blend air door motor, be certain that the blend air door is not binding.
1. Reverse the removal procedures to install. Tighten the servo motor mounting screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.).
