Connecting Rod: Service and Repair

Refer to Fig. 24 and remove parts in numerical order as shown. Number all connecting rods and caps before disassembly so cap can be mated to same
rod at reassembly. Use tool No. MD998386 for removal of bushing in connecting rod piston pin end. Use same tool to install new bushing. Make sure oil
hole in bushing lines up with oil hole in connecting rod, Fig. 25.
Reverse procedure to install, observing following procedures:
1.
Assemble piston and connecting rod with front mark of piston and identification mark of connecting rod facing in same direction.
2.
Assemble bearing cap to connecting rod using numbers applied before disassembly. If new connecting rods are used, position cap so bearing
stopper notches are on same side.
