Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove starter to flywheel housing and rear bracket to engine or transaxle attaching bolts.

3.

Loosen air pump tube at exhaust manifold, then position tube bracket away from starter motor.

4.

If equipped, remove heat shield clamp and heat shield.

5.

Disconnect battery cable at starter motor and solenoid leads at solenoid, then remove starter motor.

6.

Reverse procedure to install.
