Window Regulator: Service and Repair
Power Window Regulator Replacement
REMOVAL
1. Remove trim panel.
2. Remove the watershield as necessary.
3. Prop glass one inch from "Up" position.
4. Disconnect battery negative cable and the regulator motor wiring harness.
5. Drill out six rivets on regulator and slide regulator roller off of glass lift channel.
6. Remove motor from regulator.
7. Remove regulator assembly through access hole in door.
INSTALLATION
1. Load regulator assembly through access hole and engage regulator roller with lift channel.
2. Secure regulator to door panel with rivets or 1/4-20 nuts and short length screws. If screws are used, make sure they are torqued to 10-18 Nm
(90-115 inch-pounds) and do not interfere with regulator operation.
3. Connect regulator motor wiring harness and the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the prop, connect the power regulator operating switch, and test the glass system for proper operation.
5. Install the watershield and trim panel.
