Controller, Antilock Brake (CAB): Service and Repair
Fig 54 Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) & ABS Relay
1. Ensure ignition switch is in Off position, then disconnect wiring harness connector from ABS relay.
2. Loosen 60-way connector bolt at CAB, then disconnect connector from CAB by pulling straight out. Do not twist connector during removal.
3. Remove CAB module mounting bracket to frame rail bolts, then remove CAB and mounting bracket from vehicle.
4. Remove ABS relay and bracket assembly from CAB module and mounting bracket.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque ABS relay mounting bracket screw to 9 ft. lbs. and CAB mounting bracket to frame rail bolts to 21 ft. lbs.
a. Ensure ignition switch is still in Off position before connecting 60-way connector to CAB module.
