Wiper Switch: Service and Repair

Intermittent Wiper Switch 

WARNING:  On all models equipped with Driver Airbag Restraint System, it is necessary to remove and isolate negative (-) battery cable from
vehicle battery.  Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair, to disable airbag before
proceeding.
This procedure is necessary to avoid accidental deployment of airbag which may cause damage or personal injury.

1. Remove switch assembly from instrument panel, then remove 5 screws holding the inner switch pod.
2. Disconnect switch linkage from buttons, then remove mounting screws and the switch.
3. When installing the new switch, place linkage in the up position, then insert the switch and install 5 mounting screws.
4. Install linkage on push buttons and operate switch modes for correct operation.
5. Install inner switch pod panel, then install complete switch back in instrument panel.
