Fig 51 Modulator Assembly Secondary Accumulator Circuit Bleed
a. Connect clear bleed tube to secondary accumulator bleeder screw, then submerge other end of tube in a clear container of clean brake fluid.
b. Have an assistant pump brake pedal several times, then maintain a constant, relatively heavy pressure on pedal.
c. Using DRB scan tool, select "Bleed ABS Hydraulic Unit" mode.
d. While in this mode, select "Secondary Circuit Valves," then open modulator assembly secondary sump circuit bleeder screw at least one full
turn.
e. Allow fluid to flow continuously until it appears to be free of air bubbles. If brake pedal bottoms out before bubbles cease, repeat accumulator
circuit bleed procedure.
f.
Close bleeder screw only snugly (without final tightening), then release brake pedal.
g. Disconnect scan tool, then pump brake pedal several times and maintain a constant, relatively heavy pressure on pedal.
h. Open secondary accumulator circuit bleed screw, then continue to bleed circuit until a clear, bubble-free flow of fluid can be maintained.
i.
Close bleeder screw, then release brake pedal and torque bleeder screw to 80 inch lbs.
