Airbag System Diagnostic Module (ASDM)

Note the following before servicing the Supplemental Diagnostic Unit (SDU):
a. After airbag deployment, replace SDU.
b. The SDU is not serviceable, if faulty replace.
c. Do not drop unit or expose it to vibration.
d. Do not use volt/ohmmeter on or near SDU. Use only specified equipment.

Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable, then wait 2 minutes before working on vehicle.
3.
Disconnect SRS from SDU , using screwdriver to push in lock spring of lock lever. A double-lock connector is used, ensure care is taken not
damage connector.
4.
Disconnect the red 14-pin connector from SRS diagnosis unit while pressing down the lock of connector.
5.
Check SDU case, brackets and connectors for deformities.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Ensure connectors are properly connected.
