REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1.

Remove the lock cylinder from the removed latch assembly as follows:

a.

Insert the ignition key into the lock and rotate the cylinder to the unlocked position.

b.

Insert a small screwdriver (jewelers type) or pick into the lock tumbler opening (Fig. 2)

c.

Press the lock cylinder retaining tab downward and rotate the key/lock cylinder counter clockwise 1/4 turn (90 degrees).

NOTE:

THE LOCK RETAINING TAB IS THE FURTHEST TAB FROM THE OPENING. USE A FLASHLIGHT TO SEE THE RETAINING TAB.

Pull the key cylinder from the latch assembly.

2.

Make sure the key cylinder is in the unlocked position and insert the key cylinder (with key) into the new latch assembly p/n MR791347.

3.

Rotate the lock 1/4 turn (90 degrees) clockwise to secure the key cylinder in the latch.

4.

Confirm lock operation prior to installing the latch assembly in the glovebox door.

5.

Assemble the latch into the glovebox door and confirm proper operation before returning the vehicle to the customer.
