Toe Adjustment
To adjust toe-in, loosen the clamps at both ends of the adjustable tubes on each tie rod. Turn the tubes an equal amount until the toe-in is correct.
Turning the right tube in the direction the wheels revolve when the car is going forward increases the toe-in and turning the left tube in the opposite
direction increases toe-in. To decrease toe-in turn the right tube backward and the left tube forward. It is important that both tubes be turned an equal
amount in order to maintain the correct position of the steering wheel. When adjustment is complete, tighten all clamp bolts.
In performing service operations on the steering linkage or when adjusting toe-in, be sure to square the tie rod ball sockets on the studs and
align the tie rod stud in the center, or slightly above center, of the cross tube opening, before tightening the steering linkage adjusting tube.
This will prevent the stud from contacting the side of the cross tube opening, which would otherwise result in noise problems or damage.
