Remove cylinder head cover.

Alternately loosen each capscrew one turn at a time, then remove bridge and pivot assemblies, rocker arms and pushrods. Tag all components so
they can be reinstalled in the same positions.

Using tool No. J-21884 or equivalent, remove valve lifters through pushrod openings in cylinder head, Fig. 4. If lifters are to be reused, retain
in same order as removed.

Reverse procedure to install. Before installing, dip each lifter in American Motors Engine Oil Supplement or equivalent. Tighten bridge and pivot
assembly capscrews one turn at a time to prevent damage to bridge.
