Parking Brake Cable: Adjustments

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove rear tire and wheel assemblies.

3.

Remove rear brake drums.

4.

Loosen attaching nut at equalizer bracket.

5.

Loosen attaching nut to the end of the threaded rod.

6.

Verify operation of the self adjuster mechanism (E) by rotating the star wheel adjusters (D) in both directions.

Using star wheel adjuster (D), adjust rear brake shoes to obtain dimension X. Dimension X should be 8.97-9.0 inch.

8.

With rear brake shoes adjusted to 8.97-9.0 inch, back off star wheel adjuster (D) 5-6 teeth.
