Speedometer Head: Description and Operation
The speedometer is operated by an electronic circuit. The vehicle speed sensor generates an AC voltage whose frequency is proportional to the speed of
the vehicle. This voltage is an input at pins 4 and 7 of the speed module. This signal is buffered by the speed module and is sent to the speedometer
circuit board in the instrument cluster. The solid state circuit drives the pointer of the speedometer.
