After screwing in the stop light switch until it contacts brake pedal stopper (just before the pedal is caused to move), back off the stop light
switch approx. 1/2 turn. Make sure that there is a clearance at Y in the illustration, and tighten the lock nut securely.

Connect the connector of the stop light switch.

Check to be sure that the stop light is not illuminated with the brake pedal unpressed.

Measure the pedal stroke when the stop light comes on. Standard value (Z): 10 to 15 mm.

If the pedal stroke, measured when the stop light illuminates, deviates from the standard value, adjust the clearance in accordance with step
(3) so that play at Y in the illustration may be increased. **
