NOTE: The grease in the repair kit should be divided in half for use, respectively, at the joint and inside the boot.
CAUTION: The drive shaft joint uses special grease. Do not mix old and new or different types of grease.
B. B.J. boot band (small)/B.J. boot band (large) installation. (7 & 8)
Be careful that the drive shaft should be straight when tightening the B.J. boot bands.
CAUTION: Always check the identification numbers stamped on the boot band levers. Never confuse the bands.
Identification number:
B.J. boot band (large): 20 - 110 # BJ 87.
B.J. boot band (small): 20 - 83 # BJ 82.
C. T.J. boot/spider assembly/T.J. case installation. (3, 5 & 6)
1. Insert the drive shaft in T.J. boot.
2. Install the spider assembly to the shaft from the direction of the spline bevelled section.
3. After applying specified grease to the T.J. case, insert the rive shaft and apply grease one more time.
Specified grease: Repair kit grease
Conventional differential: 95 g (3.35 oz.)
Limited slip differential: 105 g (3.70 oz.)

D. T.J. boot band (small)/T.J. boot band (large) installation. (1 & 2)
Set the T.J. boot bands at the specified distance in order to adjust the amount of air inside the T.J. boot, and then tighten the T.J. boot bands
