DISCUSSION:
The various model year Service Manuals published for the Laser/Talon vehicles provide a detailed "Troubleshooting" section covering the procedures
required to properly diagnose the vehicle charging system.
However, an item often overlooked in troubleshooting the charging system is the generator circuit sub fusible link (see illustration). If the fuse is blown,
it will cause the charging system to not function and could lead to inappropriate replacement of good serviceable components.
The Generator circuit sub fusible link is located in the right-hand side engine compartment relay box.
Before replacing any charging system components check to make sure that the 80 AMP sub fusible link is operational.
