Park/Turn Lamps - Moisture Buildup Inside
NO: 08-59-94
GROUP: Electrical
DATE: Nov. 11, 1994
SUBJECT:
Moisture in Park/Turn Lamps
MODELS:
1993 - 1995 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/Vision/LHS/New Yorker
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Repeated moisture buildup in park/turn lamps that does not evaporate quickly when the lights are turned on. Usually more prevalent in one lamp.
DIAGNOSIS:
Remove and inspect affected lamp(s). If there are no obvious defects in the lamp such as a bad weld, and the drain hole on the bottom side of the lamp
housing is open and clear of obstruction, perform the repair procedure. LHS/New Yorker vehicles have a vent patch on the side of the lamp housing
instead of a drain hole. Make sure this patch is present and adhered.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves replacing the park/turn socket to housing seal, sealing the park/turn socket wiring connector, and installing a fender to park/turn
lamp water diversion pad as required. This procedure should be especially effective in those instances where replacing the lamp previously did not
satisfy the customer.
1.
Remove wiring connector from park/turn lamp socket and remove socket from lamp housing.
2.
Inspect socket to lamp seal for damage and thickness. Seal must be thick enough to provide a tight seal between the lamp housing and socket.
Replace as necessary (minimum thickness at the sealing ribs .135 in. / 3.4 mm).
3.
Apply sufficient Mopar Silicone Dielectric Compound, P/N J8126688, to cover the base of the terminals in the park/turn lamp socket as shown.
