Parking Lamp Relay: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATION
When the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) is activated the Body Control Module (BCM) operates the exterior lamps and the horn.
To control the park lamps the BCM provides a ground path for the park lamp relay, coil side, on circuit G51.
Power for the coil and contact side of the relay is provided on circuit F33. This circuit is protected by a 15 amp fuse located in cavity 9 of the
junction block. This circuit is HOT at all times.
Power for the F33 circuit fuse is supplied on circuit A13 from the Power Distribution Center (PDC). This circuit is protected by a 20 amp fuse
located in cavity F of the PDC.
When the relay is energized, contacts in the relay CLOSE, connecting circuits F33 and L7. The L7 circuit is spliced and connects to all the parking
lamps.
To control the flashing of the lamps, the BCM turns the ground path for circuit G51 ON and OFF
