Steering Wheel: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove screws attaching horn shroud to steering wheel, disconnect horn switch/speed control electrical connectors, then remove horn shroud.
3.
Remove steering wheel to steering shaft attaching bolt.
4.
Remove steering wheel from steering shaft using puller tool No. T67L-3600-A or suitable equivalent. Do not use a knock-off type wheel puller or
strike end of steering column shaft, as damage to shaft bearing may result.
5.
Reverse procedure to install. Before installing steering wheel align mark on steering wheel with mark on steering shaft. Torque steering wheel
attaching bolt to 23 to 33 ft. lbs. After completing installation, check steering column for proper operation.
