Armature & Field Grounded Circuit Test

1.
Connect jumper lead to positive battery terminal.
2.
Connect negative voltmeter lead to negative battery terminal.
3.
Touch positive voltmeter lead to commutator and jumper wire to armature.
4.
If voltmeter indicates voltage, armature windings are grounded.
5.
Make connections as shown, Fig. 4. If voltmeter indicates voltage, field windings are grounded.
