Removal and Installation
General Equipment
Transmission jack
Removal
Remove the spring. For additional information, refer to: (204-02 )
Spring - Vehicles Built Up To: 07/2004 (Removal and Installation),
Spring - Vehicles Built From: 07/2004 (Removal and Installation).
Fabricate a 20 mm wide by 113 mm long spacer.
CAUTION:
The suspension must be set to the design height setting.
Using a
transmission jack
and a wooden block, raise the suspension to the design height setting.
Position the
transmission jack
and the wooden block as shown.
NOTE:
The spacer must be positioned exactly as shown.
Install the spacer.
Remove the bump stop.
Install the spacer between the rear lower arm and the rear axle crossmember making sure that the spacer is in a vertical plane.
CAUTION:
The front lower arm is marked FRONT. Make a note of the position of the front lower arm to aid installation.
Remove the front lower arm.
Installation
Install the front lower arm.
Lower the suspension from the design height setting.
Remove the spacer.
Install the bump stop.
Install the spring. For additional information, refer to: (204-02 )
