Remove the EGR valve outlet tube.

Remove the air cleaner.
For additional information, refer to: Air Cleaner - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel (303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering, Removal and Installation).
| 3. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s). 1 - EGR valve electrical connector 4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | -
Vehicles with global closing, initialize the door window motors.

If a new EGR valve is installed, reset the EGR valve base value using the WDS. | Removal Details Item 3 : EGR valve lower retaining bolt NOTE:Do not remove the EGR valve lower retaining bolt. | | -
Loosen the EGR valve retaining bolt. | Item 5 : EGR valve | | -
Slide the EGR valve off the EGR valve support bracket. | Installation Details Item 5 : EGR valve | | -
To aid installation of a new EGR valve, loosely install the EGR valve lower retaining bolt to the new EGR valve. | Item 4 : EGR valve upper retaining bolts | | -
Install the EGR valve retaining bolts finger tight. | Item 3 : EGR valve lower retaining bolt | | -
Do not tighten the EGR valve lower retaining bolt at this stage. | Item 2 : EGR cooler to EGR valve retaining bolts | | -
Install the EGR cooler to EGR valve retaining bolts. Tighten the EGR valve retaining bolts in the order indicated. - Tighten the EGR cooler to EGR valve retaining bolts.
- Tighten the EGR valve upper retaining bolts.
- Tighten the EGR valve lower retaining bolt.
