BA1 - Test Stop Lamps

Press stoplight switch.
-
Check stop lamps and rear high mount lamp.
Are all lamps on?
YES
System operating properly.
NO
GO to BA2.
BA2 - Test Individual Lamps
-
Press stoplight switch.
-
Check stop lamps and rear high mount lamp.
Is any one lamp out?
YES
SERVICE bulb or circuit specific to that bulb. RETEST system.
NO
GO to BA3.
BA3 - Test Rear High Mount Lamps
-
Press stoplight switch.
-
Check stoplamps and rear high mount lamp
Are only the rear high mount lamps on?
YES
GO to BA5.
NO
GO to BA4.
BA4 - Test Lamps
-
Press stoplight switch.
-
Check stoplamps and rear high mount lamp.
Are all lamps out?
YES
GO to BA7.
NO
CHECK fuse 16 (15A) Town Car, 1 (15A) Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis. If fuse is good, GO to BA5.
BA5 - Test Circuit 511 (LG) Voltage

While holding stoplight switch, test for voltage on multi-function switch pin C1-9, circuit 511 (LG).
Is voltage reading B+?
YES
GO to BA6.
NO
SERVICE circuit 511 (LG). RETEST system.
BA6 - Test Multi-Function Switch

Disconnect multi-function switch C1 connector.

Using a jumper wire, short pin C1-9, Circuit 511 (LG) to pin C1-2, circuit 5 (O/LB) Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis or pin C1-10, circuit 9
(LG/O) Town Car.
Do stoplamps turn on?
YES
REPLACE multi-function switch. RETEST system.
NO
SERVICE circuit 5 (O/LB) and/or 9 (LG/O). RETEST system.
