With the TV cable still attached at the transmission and carburetor, install a retention spring to TV lever and rear of transmission case, or manually
rotate the TV lever at the transmission clockwise until it stops. Lock, or have someone lock, the TV cable adjuster slide while the TV lever is held
in the full clockwise position (Figures 39 and 40).

Check that the TV cable adjuster mechanism near the carburetor has not bottomed out in either direction. If the adjuster is not bottomed out,
correct TV cable adjustment has been achieved, and no further reduction of shift busyness can be gained in the TV cable system. Remove retention
spring (if used).

If the adjuster mechanism is bottomed out, remove the cable at the transmission lever. Hold the transmission TV lever at its full clockwise position
against the transmission internal stop. If the cable end will attach to the ball stud on the TV lever, without moving either cable or lever, proper
adjustment has been achieved.

If the cable end will not hook up to the TV lever without moving cable end or lever then loosen the transmission shift linkage bellcrank mounting
bracket bolt at the transmission. Holding the bracket rearward, tighten the retaining bolt (20-30 ft.lbs.). Again, holding the TV lever at its full
clockwise position, attempt to hook the cable end without moving the cable end or TV lever. If the cable end is too short (not far enough rearward)
to reach the TV lever ball stud, replace the cable and adjust utilizing the above steps 2 through 7. If the cable end extends rearward beyond the TV
lever ball stud, re-adjust the cable utilizing the above procedures steps 2 through 7.
