Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR
4.6L Shown, 5.4L And 6.8L Similar
Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner and air cleaner outlet pipe.
3. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor. Inspect the O-ring seal for damage and replace if necessary.

Lubricate the O-ring seal and with clean engine oil prior to installation.

To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
