CURB IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT

Place the transmission in Neutral (manual) or Park (automatic). Set parking brake and block wheels.

Bring engine to normal operating temperature (upper radiator hose hot).

Disconnect the electric connector on the evaporative cannister purge solenoid.

Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose to the Vacuum Operated Throttle Modulator (VOTM) kicker.
NOTE: Leave connected at elevations above 4000 feet.

Run engine in neutral at 2000 rpm for 120 seconds. Return engine to idle and place the transmission in Drive position (Neutral for manual
transmissions).

Check/adjust curb idle rpm to specifications within 90 seconds. If adjustment is required, loosen saddle bracket locking screw, then adjust rpm
using saddle bracket adjusting screw. See: Specifications
NOTE: If time is exceeded, repeat previous two steps.

Place the transmission in Neutral (manual) or Park (automatic). Rev the engine momentarily. Place the transmission in specified position, and
recheck curb idle rpm. Readjust if required.

Remove the plug from the vacuum hose to the VOTM kicker and reconnect.

Reconnect the electric connector on the evaporative cannister purge solenoid.
