4. Remove the steering column shaft-to-steering column coupler bolt and disconnect the lower steering column shaft from the coupler.

Compress the steering column shaft.

To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) 

5. Remove the steering column shaft dash panel seal and the steering column shaft.

Commercial chassis 

6. Remove the steering column shaft-to-steering gear bolt.

To install, tighten to 49 Nm (36 ft. lbs.) 

7. Remove the steering column shaft-to-steering column bolt, disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering column and then remove the

steering column shaft.

To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)

All vehicles 

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
