Coolant: Service and Repair
1. The recommended quantity of coolant additive when refilling the entire cooling system is 1.4 liters (1-1/2 quarts). Refreshing the coolant mixture
with an additional 237 ml (8 oz.) of Motorcraft FW-15 or equivalent, each 15,000 miles (24,000 km) or 12 months, is recommended.
2. The coolant refill recommendation is a 50/50 mix of water and coolant meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A, such as Ford Premium
Cooling System Fluid E2FZ-19549-AA or -B (in Canada, Motorcraft CXC-8-B) or equivalent.
3. Most repair procedures will require only 80 percent refill, unless the cylinder block has also been drained.
4. With a cold engine, the engine coolant level must be maintained at the COLD FILL level mark. If coolant level in the degas bottle is less than full,
add a 50/50 mix of water and specified coolant to obtain the specified level.
