Check to make sure the three-way catalytic converter (which will be referred to as a "converter") has not been modified or re-located from its original
specification. The inlet pipe-to-converter and converter-to-muffler joints should not be welded or extended in any manner.

To do this, inspect the converter inlet front flange (inlet pipe-to-converter joint). It should be attached with three (3) retaining nuts. Inspect the
catalytic converter outlet (converter-to-muffler joint). It should be clamped in place.
