Steering Shaft Bearing

Upper

REMOVAL

1. Remove the steering column lock cylinder housing from the steering column.

2. Suitably support the housing and tap out the small steering column bearing with an appropriate drift and a plastic hammer.

INSTALLATION

1. Suitably support the lock cylinder housing. Position the small steering column bearing so that the inner race is up (inner race is fully visible in the

up position). Tap into place with a plastic hammer and a bushing driver installer or socket the same size as the outer race of the steering column
bearing.

2. Install the lock cylinder housing on the steering gear input worm gear and rack.

1. Remove the lock cylinder housing.
