Remove the locator spacer.

Note spacer position for correct installation.
4. Remove the RH armrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Armrest - Rear, Bucket See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Arm Rest/Service and
Repair/Seat Armrest - Rear, Bucket.
5. If equipped, remove the 3 screws and LH cushion side shield.
6. Remove the backrest pivot bolt.

To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
7. WARNING: Use care when the seat back frame is removed and when releasing the recliners from a backrest upright position. The
recliners are spring-loaded, which may cause the recliner upper arms to fold with significant speed/force. Failure to follow this
instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Remove the 2 backrest-to-recliner bolts.

To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
8. Lift and slide the backrest from the recliner and remove.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal and Installation
WARNING: Use care when the seat back frame is removed and when releasing the recliners from a backrest upright position. The recliners are

1. Remove the RH armrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Armrest - Rear, Bucket See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Arm Rest/Service and
Repair/Seat Armrest - Rear, Bucket.
2. For RH seat, remove the bolt and detachable safety belt anchor.

To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

3. Remove the 3 screws and RH cushion side shield.
4. Remove the 2 backrest-to-recliner bolts.

To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
5. Remove the 2 recliner bolts.

To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
6. NOTICE: Be careful not allow the seat backrest to twist or bend at the backrest pivot while the recliner is removed from the backrest
frame or the seat may be damaged.
Rest the backrest forward on the cushion, slide the recliner from the backrest frame and remove.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
