Parking Brake Shoe: Service and Repair

Parking Brake Shoes

Removal

All vehicles

1. NOTE: Make sure the parking brake control is fully released.

Relieve the tension on the parking brake cable. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release  See: Parking Brake
Cable/Service and Repair/Procedures.

Vehicles with dual rear wheels (DRW)

2. Remove the wheel hub.

Vehicles with Single Rear Wheel (SRW)

3. Remove the brake disc.

All vehicles

4. Remove the park brake shoe adjusting screw.

5. Remove the park brake shoe adjusting screw spring.
