ISSUE
Some 2009-2010 E-Series vehicles equipped with 4.6L or 5.4L engine may exhibit illuminated MIL with DTC P0130 (Oxygen Sensor Circuit Bank 1,
Sensor 1) and/or P0150 (Oxygen Sensor Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 1).
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Check for DTC's P0130 or P0150 in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
2. Perform Powertrain Controls/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test DZ to confirm universal heated oxygen sensor (H025) functionality.
a. If H025 sensor is operating correctly do not replace sensor. Proceed to Step 3.
b. If H025 sensor failure is confirmed, replace only the affected sensor as indicated by the DTC observed (Bank1/Bank2). Refer to Workshop
Manual, Section 303-14. Proceed to Step 3.
3. Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using IDS release 71.05 and higher or 72.01 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the
VCM 2011.3 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
