Muffler and Tailpipe

REMOVAL

1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Support the muffler and tailpipe assembly.

3. Remove the tailpipe extension (if equipped).
4. Remove the muffler-to-TWC clamp.

Remove the clamp nuts.

-

Remove the clamp.

5. Remove the exhaust hanger insulators and discard if damaged.

NOTE: The exhaust hanger insulators can be reused if they show no signs of damage.

6. Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly.

NOTE: It may be necessary to heat the TWC-to-muffler joint to ease removal.

INSTALLATION  

1. Position and support the muffler and tailpipe assembly.
