NOTE: This step only applies to vehicles equipped with the 4th fuel tank. Install the P-clip at the No. 4 crossmember. Tighten the bolt to 12 Nm
(9 lb-ft).

Connect the two (2) electrical connectors to the mid-ship tank solenoid valve.

Connect the anti-lock sensor electrical connector and secure the harness to the parking brake cable.

PROCEDURE F - FITTING REPLACEMENT

WARNING: 

FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE RELEASED BEFORE DISCONNECTING FUEL LINES.

1.

NOTE: This step applies only if fuel line replacement is not required.

Disconnect the fuel line connections at both the forward aft-axle tank and the mid-ship tank.

Note the orientation of the fittings prior to removal. Remove the fittings from the mid-ship tank and the forward aft-axle tank. See Figure 6.

WARNING: DO NOT USE ANY SOLVENTS OR COMPRESSED AIR TO CLEAN ANY COMPONENTS OF THE CNG FUEL SYSTEM.
SOLVENTS MAY DETERIORATE THE 0-RINGS AND AFFECT THEIR SEALING CAPABILITIES. COMPRESSED AIR AND NATURAL
GAS FORM A HIGHLY COMBUSTIBLE MIXTURE.

Clean the connections on the vehicle fuel tanks with a clean, dry cloth.

CAUTION: Apply the lubricant to the 0-rings sparingly. DO NOT allow any excess lubricant to touch the threads of the fittings. Any lubricant on
the threads will adversely affect the tightening properties and may cause damage to the connectors.

Lubricate all 0-rings on the new fittings and the fuel tank connectors with Motorcraft Super Premium SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil X0-5W20-QSP or
equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-H.

5.

Install the new fitting onto the mid-ship tank as follows:

Turn the locknut until it is flush with the body of the fitting.

Thread the fitting completely onto the tank valve. DO NOT tighten the fitting at this time.

Orient the fitting so it is parallel with the floor and pointing toward the left front corner of the vehicle.
