Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
WARNING:

DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY
FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND CAN BE IGNITED,
RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

FUEL IN THE FUEL SYSTEM REMAINS UNDER HIGH PRESSURE EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING.

BEFORE WORKING ON OR DISCONNECTING ANY OF THE FUEL LINES OR FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS, THE FUEL
SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE RELIEVED.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the engine air cleaner assembly, air cleaner outlet tube and accelerator cable splash shield.
4. Disconnect the throttle body control linkage by disconnecting the (A) accelerator cable, (B) speed control actuator cable and (C) throttle control
return spring.
5. Remove the (A) bolts retaining the (B) accelerator cable bracket to the (C) throttle body. Remove the accelerator cable bracket.
6. Disconnect the electrical lead to the Throttle Position sensor (TP sensor).
