Daytime Running Lamp: Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the customer's concern by following these steps:

Turn the ignition switch off.

Turn the headlamp switch to HEAD position.

3

Check low beam headlamp operation.

4

Turn the high beam headlamp on.

5

Check the high beam operation.

6

Check the high beam indicator located in the instrument cluster for the proper concern.

7

Turn the high beam headlamps off.

8

Turn the low beam headlamps off.

Check daytime running lamps system operation:
-

Turn ignition switch to RUN.

-

Check for high beam headlamps on at reduced intensity.

2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
-

Damaged headlamp switch

Electrical
-

Interior fuse junction panel Fuse 6 (1O A)

-

Power distribution box Fuse 27 (15 A)

-

Damaged wiring harness

-

Loose or corroded connections

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, repair as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to Symptom Chart.
