Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair
Rocker Arm Cover, Rocker Arm and Push Rod-Right
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the resonator assembly.
4. Remove the engine oil level indicator tube retaining screw at the tube mounting bracket.
5. Remove the engine cover.
6. Disconnect the two engine harness electrical connectors from the valve cover gaskets.
7. Remove the 10 valve cover bolts, the resonator mounting bracket and the valve cover.
8. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and glow plugs.
9. Remove the valve cover gasket.
10. Remove the 16 rocker arm bolts, the eight rocker arm assemblies, and the push rods.
11. Remove the snap retaining clip.
NOTE: Be careful when removing the rocker arm snap retaining clip. Do not lose the rocker arm steel balk
