7. Clean the engine rear cover sealing surfaces.
8. Inspect the crankshaft rear oil seal, wear sleeve and alignment dowel pins for damage. Replace as necessary.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply RTV Sealant F5TZ-19G204-AB or equivalent meeting Navistar specification D15-5012 Type 2 to the engine rear cover sealing surfaces.
2. Install the engine rear cover and retaining bolts.
3. Apply RTV Sealant F5TZ-19G204-AB or equivalent meeting Navistar specification D15-5012 Type 2 to the rear oil seal retaining ring and the
crankshaft rear oil seal retaining bolts.
4. Using the driver sleeve, guide pins, crankshaft seal replacer, and the Handle, install the crankshaft rear oil seal.
5. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal retaining bolts.
6. Install the flywheel adapter housing and flywheel adapter housing retaining rings.
