ISSUE
Some 2008-2009 Edge vehicles built on or before 1/28/2009 and equipped with 20 inch chrome clad cast aluminum wheels may exhibit a noise coming
from the front or rear wheel(s) at speeds lower than 5 MPH (8 Km/h). The noise may be coming from the chrome cladding that attaches to the rim.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
NOTE
IF THE SOURCE OF NOISE IS NOT FROM THE WHEEL, FOLLOW NORMAL WORKSHOP MANUAL PROCEDURES.
1.
Verify the noise is coming from the wheel(s). The wheel noise (clicking/creaking) is worse at higher temperatures and during slow speed
maneuvers.
2.
Replace wheel(s) making the described noise with updated service parts for 20" chrome (bright) clad cast aluminum wheel. Refer to Workshop
Manual 204-04 for wheel replacement. Proceed to Step 3.
