2. Depower the system.
3. Remove the front door scuff plate.

Pull up to release the 5 retaining clips.

4. Remove the rear door scuff plate.

Pull up to release the 2 retaining clips.

5. Detach the 2 retainers and remove the lower B-Pillar trim panel.
6. Disconnect the side impact sensor electrical connector.

7. WARNING:  The tightening torque of the air bag side impact sensor retaining bolt is critical for correct system operation. Failure to

follow tightening instruction may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE:
-

Make sure the B-pillar and side impact sensor mating surfaces are clean and free of foreign material.

Note the position of the side impact sensor locating tabs for installation.

Remove the bolt and the side impact sensor.
-

To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
9. Repower the system.
