Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal
Removal
1. Remove the flywheel.
2. CAUTION: Use care to avoid damaging the crankshaft sealing surface.
Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft rear oil seal.
3. Inspect the crankshaft rear oil seal area.
Installation
1. NOTE: Coat the rear oil seal area and the crankshaft rear oil seal lip with Super Premium SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil or equivalent meeting Ford
specification WSS-M2C153-H.
NOTE: Make sure the crankshaft rear oil seal is on correctly and that the edges are not rolled over.
