Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve: Service and Repair

POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE

Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the PCV valve and position the tube aside.
3. Disconnect the PCV valve electrical connector.

4. CAUTION:  A new PCV valve must be installed if removed from the valve cover. Damage will occur to the locking mechanism on the

PCV valve.

Rotate the PCV valve counterclockwise and remove the PCV valve from the valve cover.

Discard the PCV valve.

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
