Shift Lock Actuator: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Position both front seats to their most rearward position.
3. Remove two front parking brake console attaching screws, then recline both front seats.
4. Remove two rear parking brake console attaching screws, then unbuckle safety belts.
5. Engage parking brake and remove parking brake console.
6. Remove shift console.
7. Remove gear shift knob retaining screw, then gear shift knob.
8. Slide control select lever cover off shift control selector lever.
9. Remove transmission control selector dial bezel attaching screws.

10. Disconnect small light bulb from dial bezel, then remove bezel from shifter.
11. Disconnect shift lock actuator and park range switch electrical connectors.
12. Remove shift control selector lever and housing retaining nuts.

Shift Lock Actuator

13. Lift shift control lever and housing enough to gain access to shift lock actuator attaching screws.
14. Remove shift lock actuator from shift control selector lever and housing.
15. Reverse procedure to install.
