Cruise Control Brush Assembly: Service and Repair
Control Switch or Brush Assembly
1.
On vehicles less air bag module, remove two screws from rear of steering wheel to remove pad cover.
2.
Remove foam insert, if equipped, then disconnect wiring connector from steering wheel.
3.
Disconnect two horn wire connectors from steering wheel pad cover.
4.
Remove speed control switches from steering wheel pad cover by removing two attaching screws from each side.
5.
Reverse procedure to install.
6.
On vehicles equipped with air bag module, disarm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM
DISARMING.
7.
Remove pad by removing four screws from back of steering wheel. Place airbag module on flat surface with plastic side facing upwards.
8.
Disconnect air bag module to clockspring electrical connector. Place air bag pad on a flat surface with the trim cover facing up.
9.
Remove speed control switches from steering wheel.
10.
Reverse procedure to install.
11.
Reactivate airbag as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
