Concerns of insufficient seat height for short statured persons can be resolved by installing a spacer between the front seat cushion and seat tracks at the
four (4) attaching locations (see Figure 4).
1.
Obtain parts required.
2.
Remove the seat and track assembly from the vehicle. Refer to the appropriate removal procedure contained in the 1986 Car Shop Manual.
3.
Remove and discard the four (4) bolts used to retain the seat tracks to the seat cushion.
4.
Install one (1) washer (375744-S2) between the front seat track and the front seat cushion at each front seat mounting attachment as shown.
5.
Install the specified longer seat track attaching bolts (N801357-S2). Torque the seat track to seat cushion attaching bolts to 12-24 N-m (9-18
ft.lbs.).
6.
Install the seat and track assembly in the vehicle and torque the seat track to floor pan attaching bolts to 12-24 N-m (9-18 ft.lbs.).
7.
Check to ensure that the seat tracks operate properly.
