CHILD SAFETY SEAT - TETHER ATTACHMENT - SHOP MANUAL CORRECTION

ISSUE:

The child safety seat tether attachment information published in the 1988 Car Shop Manual, Volume C, Section 41-52-4, and the 1988
Escort Owner Guide, pages 80 and 81, is incorrect. The information calls for the use of a threaded reinforcement assembly (E7FZ-
74403K60-A) instead of the previously used 7/8" (22 mm) steel flat washer (44727-S8).

ACTION:

When installing the child safety seat tether, throw away the threaded reinforcement (E7FZ-74403K60-A) provided with the child safety
seat and install the previously used flat washer (44727-S8).
